What exactly IS Intermittent Fasting?

It is a natural approach to controlling calorie intake and supporting the body to burn stored fat. Most modern day diets target the types of foods that we eat. Intermittent fasting focuses on when you eat, meaning you only eat during a specific time period on certain days.

The periods that you are not eating you can freely consume water and zero-calorie drinks such as tea and black coffee.

During the fasting period the body exhausts the stored sugar and starts burning fat. There are a number of different fasting plans available that would suit your lifestyle. Intermittent fasting allows for a good range of nutritious foods to be enjoyed.

The healthier you eat while not fasting supports the weight loss you're looking for. It allows your body to rest and reset itself naturally.

Popular intermittent fasting schedules

The 16/8 Method

This method involves fasting for 16 hours a day and having an 8 hour eating window. This method will work well if healthy food choices and limited calorie intake are followed.

The 5/2 Method

This is also known as the fast diet. Two days a week that have an intake of 500-600 calories and 5 days of eating normally.

Eat Stop Eat

For 24 hours twice a week you will fast. The other 5 days are normal eating days. This can be difficult for some fasting for this length of time.

Alternate Day Fast Method

Eating normally for 4 days a week and doing a full 24 hour fast or a 24 hour fast with limited calories (500). This method is not recommended for beginners.

The Warrior Diet

This fasting process includes eating small amounts of fruit and raw vegetables during the day and having a large meal at night within a 4 hour eating window.

*Whatever method you choose, the quality of the food choices is crucial in the success of your long-term outcomes. Eating junk foods during the eating periods will not support losing weight, developing good eating habits and having a healthier mind and body.

What is Active Alert Hypnosis?

Active Alert Hypnosis is a form of hypnosis in which instead of sitting still with your eyes closed, you are moving, eyes open when necessary. In the 1970’s this technique was extensively researched during a scientific study in Hungary. We created an Active Alert Hypnosis MP3 that you can use while walking. This allows you to exercise and your subconscious mind gets the necessary suggestions to make the intermittent fasting process easier and more comfortable. All the while changing your mindset and helping you to reach your target weight faster and efficiently.

  • What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a therapeutic technique that involves inducing a state of deep relaxation and focused attention in order to access the subconscious mind. During hypnosis, individuals are guided by a trained professional or through self-hypnosis techniques to enter a state of heightened suggestibility and openness to positive suggestions and imagery. In this altered state of consciousness, often referred to as a trance, individuals may experience increased concentration and receptiveness to suggestions that can help modify their thoughts, behaviours, or emotions. Hypnosis can be used to address a variety of issues such as stress, anxiety, phobias, smoking cessation, weight management, and improving performance or confidence. It's important to note that hypnosis is not a form of mind control. People under hypnosis are fully aware of their surroundings and retain their free will. The hypnotic state allows individuals to tap into their inner resources and make positive changes in their lives. It is a collaborative process between the hypnotherapist or the individual practicing self-hypnosis and the person being hypnotized. Hypnosis has been used for centuries and is considered a complementary therapy that can be integrated with other medical or psychological treatments. It is important to seek out a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist if you are interested in undergoing hypnosis to ensure a safe and effective experience.
  • How effective is using an hypnosis audio with supportive practical tasks and exercises?
Using an audio created by a trained hypnotherapist for hypnosis can be effective and beneficial, especially if it is designed by a qualified professional and accompanied by supporting documentation, guidelines, and exercises. Here are some factors to consider: 1. Quality and Expertise: If the audio recording is created by a reputable and experienced hypnotherapist, it is likely to contain effective hypnotic techniques and suggestions. Trained hypnotherapists understand the principles of hypnosis and how to structure sessions to promote positive change. Their expertise and knowledge are valuable in creating a well-designed and impactful audio recording. 2. Replicating the Hypnotic Experience: While an audio recording cannot replicate the exact experience of being in a room with a hypnotherapist, it can still induce a trance-like state and provide relaxation, focus, and suggestibility. A skilled hypnotherapist can design the audio in a way that facilitates a similar experience to an in-person session, utilising techniques such as guided imagery, progressive relaxation, and positive affirmations. 3. Supporting Documentation: Accompanying documentation, guidelines, and exercises can enhance the effectiveness of the audio recording. This supplementary material can provide additional information, context, and instructions to help you make the most of the hypnosis session. It may include tips for preparation, suggested frequency of listening, and follow-up exercises to reinforce the desired changes. 4. Individual Responsiveness: It's important to consider that individuals may respond differently to hypnosis. Factors such as susceptibility to suggestion, mindset, and personal engagement can influence the effectiveness of hypnosis, whether it's through an audio or in-person session. Some individuals may find audio recordings equally effective, while others may benefit more from the personalised interaction and adjustments provided by a hypnotherapist in a live session.
  • What techniques and content would I expect to find in the hypnosis audios?
Each hypnosis audio includes an induction where you begin to relax, focus your attention on the sound of my voice, and start to ignore distractions. Deepener, This carries on from the first stage, and continues to take your relaxation and focus into a deeper trance state Suggestions, are statements or instruction through guided imagery, visualisation exercises, positive affirmations, and sub-conscious suggestions. All of which will be tailored to the specific purpose of your requirements ie: giving up smoking, reducing alcohol etc Emergence, is the process is the completion of the trance state and returning to normal consciousness. Leaving the individual feeling refreshed, reorientated and ready to continue on with their day.
  • How long is the audio recording and how often do I need to listen to it?
The length of each recording is based on the script and what the recording is for. If it is for a full session this could take anywhere from 25-35 minutes and you should only need to listen to this once. With the support recording for the programme, this needs to be listened to everyday for at least 30 days minimum. It can take up to 6 weeks for a habit to be fully formed and remember these support recordings are enforcing what was covered and suggested in the programme session. Support recordings can be from 15-25 mins depending on what they are for. You will also have available to you shorter recordings to support the entire hypnosis process. These could be encouraging water intake, using imagery to burn fat from unwanted areas, or encouraging motivation for exercise. When you sign into the hypnosis programme you are wanting to do, full instruction will be available to you as well as other information.
  • How can I access these recordings?
The Free To Be Me audios can be accessed via the MySoundwise platform. It can be listened to on your tablet, laptop, computer or download the app so that you can listen to it on your phone.
  • Does the hypnosis audio come with a clear disclaimer stating its intended use and limitations?
Please take the time to read the disclaimer at the bottom of the page. This should clearly answer this question.
  • What issues can hypnotherapy be used to treat?
Hypnosis can be used to address, anxiety, stress, phobias, fears, smoking and vaping cessation, weight management, healthy eating habits, sleeping issues, pain management, confidence, low self-esteem, performance improvement (public speaking, sports), trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), behavioural issues, addictions, exam preparation, test anxiety, emotional healing and personal growth. There are other issues that hypnotherapy can help with, these are just a few. Not all of the ones mentioned will be available in the Free To Be Me audio selection. It is important to note that while hypnotherapy can be effective for many individuals, it is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.
  • How many targeted programme sessions are needed?
In the Free To Be Me audio programmes the number of sessions delivered is based on the individual programme itself. For instance there are four sessions for the Virtual Weight-loss Injection programme that includes additional supportive audios. In comparison there are three sessions for Reducing Alcohol which also has additional supportive audios.
  • What can I expect the hypnosis process to feel like?
The experience of the hypnosis process can vary from person to person, but there are some common sensations and perceptions that individuals may encounter. Here's what you can generally expect during the hypnosis process: 1. Deep Relaxation: Hypnosis often induces a state of deep relaxation. You may experience a sense of calmness, as if you are entering a peaceful and serene mental state. 2. Heightened Focus and Concentration: During hypnosis, your focus and concentration may become more intensified. You may find it easier to tune out distractions and direct your attention inward. 3. Altered State of Consciousness: Hypnosis involves entering an altered state of consciousness, sometimes described as a trance. In this state, you may feel a shift in your awareness, similar to being absorbed in a captivating book or movie. 4. Heightened Suggestibility: While in a hypnotic state, you may become more receptive to positive suggestions. The hypnotherapist may provide guidance and use language to encourage beneficial changes in your thoughts, behaviors, or emotions. 5. Vivid Imagery and Visualization: Hypnosis often involves the use of imagery and visualization techniques. You may be guided to imagine or visualize certain scenarios, events, or desired outcomes, which can feel vivid and real. 6. Time Distortion: It is common for individuals to perceive a distortion of time during hypnosis. The passage of time may feel either elongated or condensed, as your focus is primarily directed inward. 7. Heightened Awareness and Sensations: Some people report heightened sensory awareness during hypnosis. You may become more attuned to subtle sensations, sounds, or even experience changes in body temperature or muscle relaxation. 8. Retained Awareness: Importantly, you remain aware of your surroundings and have control over your actions and decisions during hypnosis. It is not a state of unconsciousness or loss of control. It's important to note that the hypnotic experience is subjective and can vary. Some individuals may enter a deep state of trance, while others may experience a more subtle shift in consciousness. The key is to approach hypnosis with an open mind, follow the instructions of the hypnotherapist, and allow yourself to relax and be receptive to the process. Remember, hypnosis is a collaborative process between you and the hypnotherapist, and they will guide and support you throughout the session to ensure a positive and beneficial experience.
  • What is trance and how can going into trance change my thought processes?
Trance refers to an altered state of consciousness that can be induced through hypnosis. It is a state of deep relaxation, focused attention, and heightened suggestibility. In this state, your mind becomes more receptive to positive suggestions and imagery, allowing for potential changes in thought processes. During trance, your conscious mind takes a step back, and your subconscious mind becomes more accessible. The subconscious mind is responsible for storing beliefs, memories, emotions, and automatic thought patterns. By bypassing the critical faculty of the conscious mind, which often filters and analyse incoming information, hypnosis can create a direct line of communication with the subconscious. In this receptive state, the hypnotherapist can provide suggestions that aim to shift or reframe your thought processes. They may offer positive affirmations, empowering statements, or imagery that encourages new perspectives or desired changes. For example, if you struggle with low self-confidence, the hypnotherapist might suggest that you believe in your abilities, feel confident, and trust yourself more. Through repetition and reinforcement, these suggestions can help reshape your thought processes over time. By accessing and influencing the subconscious mind, hypnosis aims to replace limiting beliefs, negative thought patterns, or unhelpful behaviours with more positive, empowering, and constructive ones. It's important to note that the effectiveness of trance and the resulting changes in thought processes can vary between individuals. Factors such as receptivity to hypnosis, engagement in the process, and the specific issue being addressed all play a role. The collaboration between the hypnotherapist and the individual is key in tailoring suggestions and techniques to suit their unique needs and goals. Overall, going into trance during hypnosis allows for a focused and receptive state of mind, enabling the hypnotherapist to work with your subconscious mind and potentially facilitate positive changes in your thought processes, beliefs, and behaviours.
